Aircraft Firefighting for Regional Airports (5 days)

The initial course “aircraft firefighting for regional airports” is specially designed to meet the requirements of airports up to and including fire protection category 7. In this course you will learn operational tactics with up to two ARFF vehicles and get to know about narrowbody aircraft types. The course content is based on the requirements of ICAO and EASA.

Aircraft Firefighting for Commercial Airports (10 days)

This initial course “aircraft firefighting for commercial airports” focuses on fighting fires at wide and narrowbody aircraft types. Based on the guidelines of ICAO and EASA, you will learn operational tactics and in-depth knowledge specifically for commercial airports.

Refresher Training Aircraft Firefighting (2 days)

According to ICAO and EASA guidelines, airport firefighters must complete practical refresher training recurring at least every 12 months. This course includes the required practical exercises, as well as current legal changes and incidents in aircraft firefighting.

Aircraft Firefighting for Officers (5 Days)

Building on the initial course aircraft firefighting, this course is aimed in particular at fire officers and crew chiefs. In addition to deepening the legal basis of ICAO and EASA, guidelines from other aviation authorities (FAA, CAA) are also considered. Other course content is table top exercises and the formation and management of an incident operation section in the event of an aircraft accident.

  • Tactical operational principles for officers in the event of aircraft accidents
  • New developments in aviation (new energies, fuels, VTOL)

Insicdent Command Aviation (5 days)

In addition to the basics of the ICAO Airport Service Manual Part 1 (Rescue and Firefighting), this course deals in particular with the requirements of the Airport Service Manual Part 7 (Airport Emergency Planning) and with the Regulations (EU) No. 139/2014 of EASA (Rules for Aerodromes, Subpart B). This course prepares you for the overall operational management in the event of an aircraft accident.

Communication During Incidents for Airport Fire Brigades (3 days)

This course deals with the communication between aircraft crews and airport fire brigades during incidents or in an emergency. Particular focus is placed on the various means and channels of communication as well as the necessary technical terms and question forms (German and English).

  • Types of communication (verbal, non-verbal)
  • Means of communication (radio, headset, hand signals, signal boards)
  • Aircraft familiarization training (German/English, other languages on request)
  • Communication training for incident scenarios
